Our desire is to equip and encourage women in their walk with God. Our Bible studies are specific to reformed (true) theology and the Doctrines of Grace. We just concluded an informative historical study, Christianity in America, by Dr. Stephen Nichols. In order to better understand where we are and where we are going, it is essential to understand where we started and where we've been, the successes and failures of those who God rose up before us. In January 2023 we will begin a new study "Jeremiah" from the "Knowing the Bible" series by J.I. Packer.
The Knowing the Bible series is a new resource designed to help Bible readers better understand and apply God’s Word. Each 12-week study leads participants through one book of the Bible and is made up of four basic components: (1) Reflection questions designed to help readers engage the text at a deeper level; (2) “Gospel Glimpses” highlighting the gospel of grace throughout the book; (3) “Whole-Bible Connections” showing how any given passage connects to the Bible’s overarching story of redemption culminating in Christ; and (4) “Theological Soundings” identifying how historic orthodox doctrines are taught or reinforced throughout Scripture. With contributions from a wide array of influential pastors and church leaders, these gospel-centered studies will help Christians see and cherish the message of God’s grace on each and every page of the Bible.

The women's ministry is involved in several ministries within our church body:
Prayer Ministry - 1st Sunday of Every Month
The Prayer Ministry hosts the monthly time of women's prayer at the church and encourages prayer as a vital component in all areas of women's ministry. We pray over our church, our families, our community, our schools and our country. The prayer ministry meets the first Sunday of every month in the education building Sunday School classroom immediately after the worship service. We encourage all women to come and pray. If all the women of WPC get together for 15 - 30 minutes one Sunday a month and pray, God is listening! If you would like to just come in and pray silently with others that is encouraged as well. This ministry is one of the most important of all our ministries. Please see Paula Leeper for more details on this ministry. Our next Prayer meeting is the first Sunday of every month.
Mentoring Groups
This ministry involves special interests and sharing those interests and talents with others. God has blessed women with so many talents/gifts, such as scrapbooking, crafts, baking, cooking/culinary arts, sewing, table decorating, gift making, quilting, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, needlepoint, extreme couponing, photography, painting (water color & oil), gardening, growing herbs/ veggies, etc. If you are a woman who is willing to share your special interests/gifts with a group of women, please contact Tammy Heeren. We are in need of someone to lead & organize this fun and exciting ministry.
Meals Ministry
This ministry arranges and provides short-term meal needs, such as, new baby, illness, etc. If a sister in Christ has to go to the hospital, this ministry can arrange to have meals delivered to her family while she's away from them. If a death of a spouse occurs, this ministry can arrange to have meals delivered and use this time to minister. This ministry ministers to all our members in need of this ministry. We are always in need of volunteers willing to cook and deliver meals as the need arises. Please contact Pat Compton for more details or if you have a need for meals.
Visitation (Encourage) Coordinator Ministry
This ministry will visit those in the hospital, keep track of all our women's birthdays, have other women sign the birthday cards and send out birthday cards to be delivered on or before their birthday. This ministry will reach out to visitors and new members, give them information about our WM and encourage them, as well as all women to become involved in the WPC Women's Ministry. This ministry will work closely and assist the women's minister as needed and stay up to date on all the women's ministries' activities. There are great opportunities for this ministry to grow and develop. We are currently in need of someone to lead this ministry. For more information on this ministry please contact Tammy Heeren.
SPECIAL EVENTS - OUTREACH
This ministry lines up exciting events for our women's ministry, such as the ladies tea, women's retreats, prayer overnights, Fall Conference, baby showers for crisis pregnancy centers, Spiritual Journaling workshops and Ladies Christmas Brunch, etc.
Ladies Tea
Our Ladies Tea is becoming increasingly popular! We have our teas a couple of times per year. We offer delicious food and of course delightful teas followed by wonderful fellowship and a special teaching from the Word of our Lord. Join us for an incredible experience of Christian women fellowship.
Women's Retreat
A wonderful opportunity to renew your mind and spend some time with the Lord and be in fellowship with other women. This is a time to nurture old friendships and make new ones. Included in the retreat is a great time of fellowship, worship and prayer. Our retreat at the Riverbend Retreat Center was an incredible time of glorifying God, learning about prayer/meditation and fellowship. Our Women's Fall Prayer Retreat is a time for fellowship, prayer as a group of WPC women and alone time in prayer with our heavenly Father in a beautiful setting.
