Women's Ministry

"Nevertheless I am continually with You;   You hold me by my right hand.
You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory."   Psalm 73:23-24

The Women's Ministry of Weatherford Presbyterian Church provides opportunities for women to grow in their spiritual relationship and knowledge of God, to be strengthened as members of His church, and to achieve a better understanding of the particular role they have in the family, church, and community. The Women's Ministry meets for regular Bible study and prayer. Please check the Church Calendar to remain informed about upcoming events.

Women's Bible Study
We recently finished studying through "Defending Your Faith" by R. C. Sproul.  We will start another Bible study again in the Fall of 2021.  For more information please contact Tammy Heeren.

Women's Prayer Ministry - 1st Sunday of Every Month
The Prayer Ministry hosts the monthly time of women's prayer at the church and encourages prayer as a vital component in all areas of women's ministry.  We  pray over  our church, our families, our community our country and issues affecting ourselves.  This is a sweet intimate time of prayer to pray for each other's needs and our relationships with each other as sisters in Christ as we grow closer to each other through our union with Christ.   We are blood sisters bought by the blood of our shared Savior.  The women's prayer ministry meets the first Sunday of every month in the education bldg Sunday School classroom  immediately after the service.  We encourage all WPC women to come and pray.  If all the women of WPC get together for  a few minutes of prayer one Sunday a month and pray,  surely God is listening!   If you would like to just come in and pray silently with others  that is encouraged as well.  This ministry is one of the most important of all our ministries.  Please see Paula Leeper for more details on this ministry.  Our next Prayer meeting is the first Sunday of every month.

Mentoring Groups
This ministry involves special interests and sharing those interests and talents with others.  God has blessed women with so many talents/gifts, such as scrapbooking, crafts, baking, cooking/culinary arts, sewing, table decorating, gift making,  quilting, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, needlepoint, extreme couponing, photography, painting (water color & oil), gardening, growing herbs/ veggies, etc.  If you are a woman who is willing to share your special interests/gifts with a group of women, please contact Tammy Heeren.  We are in need of someone to lead & organize this fun and exciting ministry.

Meals Ministry
This ministry arranges and provides short-term meal needs, such as, new baby, illness, etc.  If a sister in Christ has to go to the hospital, this ministry can arrange to have meals delivered to her family while she's away from them.  This ministry can arrange to have meals delivered and use this time to minister.  This ministry ministers  to all our members in need of this ministry.   We are always in need of  volunteers willing to cook and deliver meals as the need arises.  Please contact  Pat Compton  for more details or if you have a need for meals.

Visitation (Encourage)  Coordinator Ministry
This ministry will visit those in the hospital, keep track of all our women's birthdays, have other women sign the birthday cards and send out birthday cards to be delivered on or before their  birthday.  This ministry will reach out to visitors and new members, give them information about our WM and encourage them, as well as all women to become involved in the WPC Women's Ministry.  This ministry will work closely and assist the women's minister as needed and stay up to date on all the women's ministries' activities.  There are great opportunities for this ministry to grow and develop.   Paula Leeper in currently leading/organizing this ministry and she is in need of volunteers to assist..

This ministry lines up exciting events for our women's ministry, such as the ladies tea, women's retreats, prayer overnights, Fall Conference, baby showers for crisis pregnancy centers, Spiritual Journeling workshops  and  Ladies fellowship meals/Christmas Brunch, etc.

Ladies Tea
Our Ladies Tea is becoming increasingly popular!   We have our teas a couple of times per year. We offer delicious food and of course delightful teas along with a very blessed time of fellowship with our sisters in Christ.  This is an excellent opportunity to relax and catch-up with each other as well as getting involved and getting to know each other better.  Our next tea will be in December 7, 2019 at the home of Tammy Heeren..click here for flyer.

Women's Retreat

Gearing up for a retreat in Fall of 2021!  After Covid, I know we are all so ready for normal fellowship again.  More information to follow...
A wonderful opportunity to renew your mind and spend  some time with the Lord and be in fellowship with other women. This is a time to nurture old friendships and make new ones. Included in the retreat is a great time of  fellowship, worship and prayer.  Our  retreat at the  Riverbend Retreat Center was an incredible time of glorifying God, learning about prayer/meditation and fellowship.  Our Women's Fall Prayer Retreat is a time for fellowship, prayer as a group of WPC women and alone time in prayer with our heavenly Father in a beautiful setting.
